According to Deputy Transport Minister Rumaih Al-Rumaih, the Kingdom’s transportation officials are now working on a strategy to connect Riyadh and the Eastern Province with a fast train that would be comparable in speed to that of the Al-Haramain train.
It will take roughly an hour and fifteen minutes to drive between the two regions.
Al-Rumaih claimed in a Saudi Channel interview that this fast train project will provide the general public with numerous benefits, including its affordable cost and ease of access to public transport. He declared that Saudi women would be allowed to drive these trains starting in January of next year because this occupation is not limited to just men. The Kingdom is one of the forerunners in this sector, contributing to the empowerment of women across the board.
He stated that the Al-Haramain train would serve as the starting point.
