Hassle-free transfer of sponsorship for dependents of expats ONLINE in KSA

The expatriates in KSA who are under private sponsorship or are working in any establishment can now transfer sponsorship of their dependents to private sector establishments without visiting any branch of the Ministry of Human Resources. Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has recently launched a new electronic service which enables expatriates to transfer sponsorship of their dependents to private sector establishments online.

The firm interested in the services of dependent of expatriates need to visit the ministry’s portal and click on request to transfer a dependent service and choose the required profession. After submission of the application the status of dependent would be pending until the approval from the guardian. Then the expatriate need to choose between the options approve or refuse to transfer his dependent’s sponsorship in the National Access service in the Absher portal.

After the guardian’s transfer service is approved the request would be forwarded to the Ministry of Interior for approval. During the process of getting approval from the Ministry of Interior the establishment need to approach the Passport Directorate concerned branch within 14 days to complete the transfer of service process. In case of delay by the establishment in completing the procedure within specified period of time, the service would be cancelled.

The fee for transferring the service of dependent should be paid through a bank in the name and ID number of the dependent during the transfer process. Main conditions for transfer of sponsorship includes:

  • The dependent must have completed 18 years of age.
  • The dependent shall not belong to any nationalities for which the transfer of sponsorship service is banned.
  • The expatriate and his dependent must have valid residency permits (iqama).
  • The expatriate should currently be working in the Kingdom.
