The Saudi Arabian government has made the decision to introduce new student visas for education. There will be two categories of student visas – a long-term and short-term one.

The Council of Ministers, presided over by King Salman, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, made the choice.

Students, researchers, and experts will be awarded long-term visas for the duration of their academic studies and research visits.

While the short-term visa will be given to students, researchers, and visiting trainers, it can also be used for short programs like student exchanges and language studies.

Holders of the new educational visas are exempt from the necessity of having a sponsor, even though it is essential for all other expats who desire to work in the Kingdom to have a Saudi sponsor.
