Saudi Arabia allows citizens in neighboring states to return directly via land ports

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has issued orders allowing entry of citizens and their family members and accompanying domestic workers through land ports directly from the neighboring countries.

The permission for the entry covers male and female citizens, their non-Saudi family members such as husbands, wives, sons, daughters, and the domestic workers residing in the Kingdom accompanying them, who wish to return to the Kingdom.

Authorities also confirmed the necessity for non-Saudis crossing the borders to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test with a validity of not more than 48 hours.

The Kingdom’s General Directorate of Passports confirmed that citizens wishing to return to the Kingdom through the land ports must bring with them necessary documents that prove the relationship of kinship for those non-Saudis accompanying them to obtain prior approval before their arrival at the port.

The Jawazat stated that citizens with non-Saudi members wishing to return to the Kingdom through land ports must obtain prior approval through furnishing the necessary information online via Absher portal under the Ministry of Interior.

To follow the procedure on Absher portal firstly enter the section of “Khidmaty” and then get access into public services — messages and requests — passports — request for the arrival of companions — and choose one of the port of arrival i.e Khafji, Al Raqi, Al Batha, or King Fahd Bridge, in the first stage, indicating that the rest of the land ports will be added in the second phase In coordination with the National Information Center.
