Saudi Arabia lifts COVID-19 restrictions

The Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that most coronavirus-related restrictions on wearing masks and showing health status on the Tawakkalna application have been lifted. Wearing face masks are not mandatory in closed places in most cases.
Only the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, and those places for which protocols have been issued by the Public Health Authority require the use of masks.

Tawakkalna health status verification can also be done for access to facilities, activities, occasions, events, and modes of public transportation that want to induce a significant levels of protection by maintaining the immunization requirement.

The ministry also increased the time required for citizens traveling outside the Kingdom to receive the third dose (booster dose) of the COVID-19 vaccine to eight months from three months after receiving the second dose. The ministry added that there will be exemptions for the age groups specified by the Ministry of Health.
