The General Directorate of Passports-Jawazat has recently affirmed that it is the responsibility of the recruitment offices to receive domestic employees when they arrive to work for them in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the very first time. Additionally, it has also been asserted that it is the employer’s obligation to receive the domestic workers upon their return, after leaving the Kingdom on an exit and re-entry visa.
It is a commendable and noteworthy initiative that the Ministry of Interior has also introduced a new service called an electronic authorization service that provides employers the ability to extend permission for others to receive female domestic workers when they arrive in Saudi Arabia on a work visa. The ministry stated that the e-authorized service period only lasts for 30 days from the date of its issuance and that the service can be cancelled at any time throughout the authorization term.
The King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd Airport in Dammam, and Prince Mohammed Airport in Madinah are the four airports in the Kingdom where the e-authorization service is accessible, according to the Absher platform.
